Here is a TED talk Chimamanda Adichie: The danger of a single story about how repeatedly hearing the same kind of story limits our ability to understand people from other places.

I challenge you to find a blog, picture set, newspaper, map, whatever from someplace you've never been and barely even heard about. You're on the best, fastest, easiest research tool the human race has ever made. Look out someone else's window for 10 minutes.

I know ya won't bother, but I recommend watching this hour long video, An anthropological introduction to YouTube. It's a presentation by a professor of anthropology, Michael Wesch, at the Library of Congress. It's an insightful and interesting interpretation of new media and how it affects and connects people in an increasing disconnected world. I'd try to summarize but there's just too much.

Bad Voodoo's War: [No comments]Comment?

PBS Frontline did a report on some National Guard soldiers escorting trucks in Iraq. The unit was nicknamed Bad Voodoo and this video report is part of their story. (Click on Watch the full program online) The report is too short at 1 hour.

And thank you, Jake, for escorting and driving fuel trucks in Iraq. I'm glad you made it home.

To those who think that America is overly litigious, I present this evidence to the contrary: Sniper Prank Video. Wherein, a hidden camera TV show pulls a prank where everyone else in the room gets 'shot' by a sniper.

This video makes me think that we're a decent amount of sue-happy.
