-- Jenny's out in Michigan after driving all night. She brought her brother, Bobby, back home and is staying for a visit.
-- I'm installing a picture gallery on my web server and in the configuration it checks that you have everything you need installed. On my machine, the page ends with this: "Your installation has warnings, but life is short so let's GO!"

:D

-- I posted my resume on Monster.com and 4jobs.com. So far, I've gotten two offers to sign up with recruitment agencies. The first one looked Really dubious. I haven't looked at the second one yet.

-- Pictures of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police mixing it up with their local SCA in a practice. :D

-- Favorite job posting for today:
Title: Fixed Income Developer, Location: New York, NY US, Salary:$110.00

That's one Fixed Income! ( Fixed Income refers to bonds, which seems to be the big way to make money when the economy is in the pooper.)

-- Here's my resume again. This time in the chronological style.
-- RAIN, again. Huge Buckets of rain. At least I'm in a house this time and not my tent.

5/27/3
-- I went to War of the Roses this past weekend. It rained Friday and Saturday and I still managed to get a little sunburn Saturday. Sunday it got downright pleasant and I drastically improved the depth of my sunburn. :)

-- I mostly finished Jim's body armor. There's still more to do but it worked okay. So Jim was able to fight Sunday after 45 minutes to an hour of training and a hefty portion of loaner armor. (Thanks Jeff and Marc!)

-- Tomorrow I get to have a meeting with the unemployment office. Weee. *shrug* It MIGHT be helpful.

5/23/3
-- Guten Tag to the members of the Natural Selection clan [pOT]. They are a great group of people I hung out with today. We played Natural Selection on their server and they taught me some more German. I led them to a resounding defeat. Oh well, maybe next time.
-- My Linux box is Not serving webpages... grrr. Must reconfigure ddclient.
-- My Linux box IS serving webpages. Weee Cerul.dyndns.org:3000 also, my Games directory has patches and some mods. I've got They Hunger, a single player mod for Half Life. It's a zombie hunt. This server isn't for public use, just friends. Gotta figure out how to restrict it...

5/19/3
-- You may or may not have read articles about a Klingon interpreter being sought. Kuro5hin.org has a short story about it being mostly a joke with links to the original story and the resulting AP wire story.
-- My Linux box is serving a webpage! Nothing special, but this link should keep working. :) Cerul.dyndns.org:3000

5/16/3
-- arXiv.org is apparently a place to find accademic papers on Physics, Math, CompSci, and "Nonlinear Sciences". I haven't really had a chance to check it out, they're looking for a network admin for the site. 36K per year. :(

-- Matrix Reloaded was poor. Wait-till-you-can-rent-it poor. :(

Pluses: Sexy outfits for the women. Lots of fight scenes. Neo can fly.

Minuses:

More slow motion than you can shake a stick at.
Hard to follow metaphysical discussions everywhere.
    No closure ("To Be Concluded").
Some of the fight cuts (10 frames or so) looked like video games.
The soundtrack was just a little bit weak.

Hehe:

Morpheus has a body double when he's speaking to the crowd.
Almost everybody misses the trucks they jump onto. The motion says they missed and yet they land right everytime.

5/14/3
-- White sauces should be cooked over LOW heat. When cooked over high heat, they turn into black sauces that you have to scrub and scrap off the pan. :)
-- PBS is doing a show called "Warrior Challenge" where they take some folks and run them through three days of training to become a warrior of the past. Last night they did Romans and Knights and coming up are episodes on Vikings and Gladiators.

Schedule for the local station, WMHT(.org)

Sunday night at 6 and 7 they are re-running Romans and Knights, Tuesday night at 9 and 9? they are doing Vikings and Gladiators.

The Resources link from PBS's Warrior Challenge site looks like a great starting point for LOTS of research.

-- The Matrix 2 is coming out (The Matrix Reloaded) today at 10pm. I'm there Dude!

5/8/3
-- A page about the Gospel of Thomas, with discussion of the movie Stigmata (which revolved around this text).
The text of the Gospel of Thomas

"If two make peace with each other in a single house, they will say to the mountain, 'Move from here!' and it will move." #48 is my favorite.

-- It is officially a pain in the bippy to get the Software Development Kit (SDK) for Java (a programming language designed to run on any computer.). Java is also another of those 'cool new' technology languages.

Actually, I heard once that Java scared the big MS cause if you wrote say a word processor in Java, it could run in any web browser on any hardware. So, you could learn it using Windows and then still be able to use it when you bought a Mac.

-- Making Japenese armor
-- For no good reason, here's how I make images be the "right" size for the web: Resizing Images for the Web (okay, it's a good size for email too.)

5/4/3
-- I just started a page on Making Leather Armor.
-- And here are the rules for armor and weapons and pretty much everything else in the East Kingdom. East Kingdom Law and Policy

5/2/3
-- Happy May
-- SCA.org is the Society for Creative Anachronisms, EastKingdom.org is the New York plus group.

Winter Storm Warning is a local event this weekend.

War of the Roses is coming up on the 25th.
