Software:

• The Opera web browser has several great features (built in zoom, mouse gestures and the back command is right click then left click which is super fast). It also fails to draw some web pages correctly especially Microsoft's. (Something about MS not obeying industry standards. )
• Trillian an instant messenger that can log onto pretty much all of the IM services at the same time. (Extra points for cool domain name: CeruleanStudios.com)
• A-Lex is a 160,000 word dictionary that runs on PalmOS devices. Definitions are barebones and terse but 160,000 words!!!!!
• IrfanView is a great picture editor/viewer. This is the program that I use to crop, resize and batch whatever my pictures for my website.
• CDex a CD ripper. It converts audio CDs into MP3s that you can store on your harddisk
• JEDit is an excellent Java based text editor. Quick, powerful, useful. JEdit does syntax highlighting, replace in all open files, parenthesis and bracket matching, block indent/undent, and most everything I want. Oh, it's free too.
• FileZilla is my recommendation for an ftp client.
• Abacus financial calculator (for Palm OS) will let you master interest rates.
• "Cygwin is a UNIX environment for Windows."

• America's Job Bank harvests ads from lots of sources.
• AutomationTechies.com great name, mediocre site
• Monster.com is big into selling job-hunt services, register with them to get monster.com service ads in your email. Look for the 100 mile city of Albany/Poughkeepsie.
• JobsTU.com connected with the Albany paper, Times Union. Enjoy their accusatory advertising! Doesn't sort results by relevance to keywords. (More keywords = more junk)
• GeekFinder.com a subset of dice.com
• DaVinci Times.org for upstate New York.
