Tom Cerul's Homebrew BattleLords rules and resource links

In order to clarify for myself and my players, here are the combat rules that I will be using.

Rounds

Rounds last 3 seconds each. Initiative is rolled for every 3 seconds of combat and kept for that round. Seconds are also known as segments (of a round). I'm willing to consider eliminating segments altogether and just using rounds.

Hand to Hand combat (melee)

Characters get multiple melee attacks each round. In my game, we will be reversing the Hand Attack Matrix(Table). Any character can swing their fist in the first segment. More advanced characters can continue the flow of attacks.
Hand to Hand Attacks
Number of attacks Segment 1 Segment 2 Segment 3
1 1 0 0
2 2 0 0
3 2 1 0
4 2 1 1
5 2 2 1
6 2 2 2
7 3 2 2
8 3 3 2
9 3 3 3
Deviation from book
1. Until a character gains 4 attacks per round, he has no possibility of beating the initiative of [someone using a gun]. (page 196, first paragraph.)

Sprinting speed:

In each segment, a character can move a number of meters equal to the first number in their movement rating. (8 meters per second for humans. Jesse Owens set a world record at 10.6 meters per second over 100 meters.) If there is demand, we can make a running skill to allow you to increase your movement rate.

Bullet Damages

Since folks in the real world can't agree how to measure the effectiveness of bullets. I don't want to get involved in it either. From my small amount of research, the SSDC folks didn't base their damage numbers on the kinetic energy(ft-lbs) of the bullet fired. The Beretta 9mm can carry 400 ft-lbs of energy and does 1-6 points of damage. The Imi Desert Eagle .50 can carry 1200 ft-lbs and does 2-8. The Galil AR 7.62 carries 2600 ft-lbs and does 1-6.

There are other methods of judging bullets, but they are less common. So, we use what SSDC publishes. It's easy and it's balanced.

Battlelords Resources

PC Generator spreadsheet that I made up. Needs MS Excel. I think I'd like to release this under the GPL but (a) I don't know if it's kosher to GPL an Excel spreadsheet and (b) I don't know how SSDC, the publishers of Battlelords would take it.
SuperFAQ is the best (only) FAQ list I've found. As an added bonus, it's terse and confusing and out of date.

Gun Specifications Resources

Remington's ballistic information page is a fine source for the muzzle energies of different cartridges.
Modern Firearms and Ammunition has lots of little pages on popular firearms.
